What we do with what you give us

Short version: we ask for your email to send you the video, and for a page about you to decide whether the room is a fit. We keep both to ourselves, we use a few tools to handle them, and you can ask us to delete either at any time.

Who we are

DrivenDad is run by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], based in Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada. Our mailing address is [MAILING ADDRESS]. For anything about your personal information, write to [PRIVACY EMAIL]. Pascal DeGrâce is responsible for how we handle personal information.

What we collect, and why

When you ask for the video. Your email address, plus a record of your consent: the exact wording you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed. We use the address to email you about the room, including the video once it's finished. Consent is express, never assumed: the box is empty until you tick it, and every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe.

When you apply for a seat. What the application asks for: your name, email, phone number, city or region, business name and website, what the business does, years in business, number of employees, an annual revenue band, how many children you have at home and their ages, why you're looking now, what you could bring to the room, which of the four fronts is furthest behind, and who referred you. We use it for one thing: to decide, with you, whether the room is a fit. We don't sell it, rent it, or share it with other members.

About your children. We ask how many are at home and how old they are because this room is for fathers. We don't ask for their names and we don't want them.

When you visit the site. Like most sites, ours records technical information: pages viewed, the device and browser, an approximate location from your IP address. When we advertise, we use the Meta pixel, which lets Meta know you visited and lets us show you an ad later. You can block it in your browser or through Meta's ad settings.

Who handles it on our behalf

We use a small number of tools to store and send what you give us. Each one processes your information only to do its job for us:

Kit sends our emails and keeps the list.
Supabase stores the consent record and lead information.
Formspree delivers your application to Pascal and Matt.
Resend and Twilio send the confirmation email and the text message that tells us an application came in.
Vercel hosts the site. Meta runs the pixel when we advertise.

Some of these companies store data in the United States. That means your information can be subject to the laws there while it is in their systems.

How long we keep it

Your email stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. We keep an application for [12 months] after a decision, unless you join, in which case it becomes part of your member file for as long as you're a member. Consent records are kept for as long as we email you, and for [three years] after, because the law puts the burden of proof on us.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from any email in one click, at any time.
Ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email [PRIVACY EMAIL]; we answer within 30 days.
Withdraw consent to any of it. We'll stop, and we'll tell you if there's something we still have to keep and why.

How we protect it

Access is limited to the two of us and the tools above. Connections are encrypted, and the tools we use are the same ones serious businesses rely on. No system is perfect, and if something goes wrong that puts you at risk, we'll tell you.

If you're not satisfied

Write to us first; we'd rather fix it. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and if you live in Quebec, to the Commission d'accès à l'information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version goes here with a new date at the top. If a change matters to you, we'll say so in an email.
